2022 Problem

The 2022 mock case explored the intersections between the energy-
intensive cryptocurrency mining industry, policies aimed at achieving net-
zero emissions, and the fluctuating cryptocurrency markets in the context
of an M&A transaction. Students had to cross-examine factual witnesses involved in the negotiation and execution of the contract, and experts on damages.

The case was prepared by the ICC International Court of Arbitration (Juan Pablo Argentato, Elina Zlatanska, and Verena Waisberg), Dechert LLP (Mark Mangan and Daniel Gaw), and Compass Lexecon (Carla Chavich, Andres Barrera, and Jack Ghaleb).

Winners

Over 300 students and coaches, from almost 50 teams, representing more than 18 nationalities, participated in over 100 hearings from all corners of the world.
