2023 Problem

The 2023 mock case dived into the particulars of the aviation industry in the context of the negotiation of the expansion of an airport under a concession contract between a State and a private company. The case explored the growing importance of ESG obligations and involved corruption allegations. Students had to cross-examine fact witnesses and economic experts.

The case was prepared by the ICC International Court of Arbitration (Juan Pablo Argentato, Ruslan Mirzayev, Gulirano Abdullajonova, and Marija Bolzmacher), Dechamps International Law (Pablo Jaroslavsky, Sofia Ottaviano, Manuela Moreno, and Ignacio Wernicke), and Compass Lexecon (Carla Chavich, Andres Barrera, and Jack Ghaleb).

Winners

Over 100 students and coaches, from over 14 teams representing 18 countries, and over 60 arbitrators, participated in over 60 hearings in the first in-person edition of the competition.
