Cross Examination Moot

The Moot is a competition for university teams with an exclusive focus on cross-examination techniques in international arbitration. Students will attend various rounds of hearings during which they will cross-examine each other’s witnesses and experts.

Every year, thousands of students participate in the various existing arbitration moots around the world. These competitions have successfully trained generations of young lawyers on the basics of advocacy. This Moot goes one step further. Considering the importance of cross-examination for the arbitration profession and the fact that young lawyers are not exposed to its technics until very late in their careers, the Moot has the purpose of educating the next generation of arbitration practitioners on the most challenging and exciting aspect of advocacy.

The Moot is hosted by Sciences Po, a higher education institution located in Paris, France.
